Pastor Van Clements
Van was born and raised on the Central Coast of California. Growing up as a pastor's kid, he trusted Jesus Christ as a young child. He attended and graduated from Bethany University in Santa Cruz, California, where he obtained a B.A. in Music Composition and Theory. During that time, he was also licensed as a Pastor by the Assemblies of God. He joined the pastoral team at Willamette Christian Center in 1995 and became the Lead Pastor in the summer of 2008.
Van is passionate about the power of the Gospel to transform lives, families and communities here in the Willamette Valley! He is committed to the centrality of the Gospel, the doctrines of grace, relevant expository preaching, and authentic, multi-generational community. His desire is that we at Willamette become a people of grace, changing the identity of this community for Christ.
Van and his wife, Erica, met at Bethany and were married in 1988. Erica owns a small custom jewelry business, Bonbon Charms, and is Van's balancing factor in ministry. Together they have four great kids; Alyson, Claire, Sam, and Hope. In his free time, Van enjoys golfing, reading, University of Oregon college football (Go Ducks!), and a good cup of coffee.
