SUMMER LIFE

THE CALL

"Lord to whom should we go? You have the words of eternal life!"

John6:68

Jesus asked Peter, "Do you want to leave too?" The above scripture is Peter's response. Jesus was clear in his mission and many believed and many followed, but some did not. Peter's astute response is at the heart of our desire for the Summer of 2012. Who else can we turn to? Only Jesus has the words of eternal life!

From Sunday, June 24 - September 2,
we will join together for a spiritual life journey!

Here are the components of our Summer:
1. An invitation to focus on the WORDS OF LIFE through
Life Journaling in the Bible.

2. An encouragement to memorize 10-20 scriptures.

3. An opportunity to hear ten LIFE changing messages
based on the memory verse passages.

4. An environment to grow with others in your relationship with God.

So no matter what your summer plans are, there is time and purpose for you to pursue words of LIFE. Let's do it together!

THE CHALLENGE

"I have hidden your word in my heart

so that I might not sin against you." Psalm 11911

Scripture Memory Challenge:
Over the summer, we will look at 10-20 LIFE giving scriptures together. Each Sunday we will present a card with two scriptures. The challenge is to memorize one each week, with the option to learn an additional verse for those who really want to go for it!

Devotions Challenge:
Share devotions with at least one other person, once a week, for ten weeks.

Here's three ways you can meet this challenge:

1. Life Journal with a family member or friend.
Pick a friend or family member, choose a time, find a place, and Life Journal together. On the weeks you are not able to meet, you can still share what you've received through email or phone.

2. Join a Life Journaling Group.
We've provided a list of several groups that will be meeting though the summer (Click here for a list of groups). There are several options, and more developing. The likelihood is that you will find one to fit your time schedule.

3. Start a Life Journaling Group.
If you'd like to start a group, find two other folks who would like to commit to serve with you, and then email Brenda Randall in the church office. She will get you set up with starting your group.
